Exploring how these different dimensions intersect and how we “inhabit” them, many of his artworks testify to his interest in subjective, liminal experiences, playing on the foundations of our perception and knowledge. Devised as a “temporal landscape” deploying all facets of his practice – photographs and videos along with sculptures, paintings and textual pieces – his exhibition at Mudam Luxembourg combines motifs such as the universe, shadow, polar glaciers, the cycle of the seasons, and our position “between the fire of the rock and the fire of the sun”. It highlights how, in his work, different time scales resonate – whether cosmic, geological, historical or personal.
